Organization of Curriculum

Professional Degree Program

The curriculum is organized systematically, offering class subjects necessary to achieve the educational objectives of the program.
These class subjects are categorized into common subjects, course-specific optional subjects, and practicums, as described below.


Category Description
Common Subjects The subjects are designed to allow students to systematically acquire knowledge, culture, and skills that serve as the foundation for the highly professional competence required for teaching in schools.
Course-Specific Optional Subjects The subjects are designed to allow students to learn the meaning of school practices based on deep academic knowledge and culture, and to acquire the ability to make appropriate judgments.
Practicums The subjects are designed to allow students, through practical work at schools, to acquire the ability to properly understand the current state of teaching in schools, and to respond properly to issues in cooperation with others.

Master’s Program

The curriculum is organized systematically, offering class subjects necessary to achieve the educational objectives of the program, and provides plans for advising students in the preparation of their theses.
The class subjects consist only of major subjects, as described below.


Category Description
Major Subjects The subjects are designed to provide students with the knowledge and culture that will serve as the basis for the professional competence to meet the diverse needs of education, from a broad perspective of contemporary education and the growth of children. These subjects are also intended to allow students to acquire advanced expertise in clinical psychology, which is required to meet the need for psychological support in education.
In addition, specialized seminars are offered to give shape to individual research topics.
